Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
In Arlington, you can choose between roof-top dining or a ground-level pub. For example, enjoy the food, beverages, and entertainment at Wilson Hardware Kitchen & Bar, a multi-level contemporary restaurant featuring American cuisine. Enjoy a cocktail on the rooftop bar or dine on the outdoor patio. Open seven days a week and located on Wilson Blvd, reservations are advised.
In the mood for Italian? Consider Sfoglina Pasta House, Rosslyn, also found on Wilson Blvd. Handmade pasta is made onsite with classic Italian menu items as well as regional specialties from throughout Italy. Don't forget to check out the daily special. Indoor and outdoor dining is available, and it’s closed on Sundays.
Within the heart of Clarendon, you can find a wealth of other restaurants and shops, and there is never a lack of entertainment—it's all within easy walking access. But there are many mall options here as well, such as the Ballston Quarter with 5Wits, a toy and hobby specialty shop, or Rewild, featuring a plethora of houseplants with shopkeepers sharing their knowledge on keeping them healthy and thriving.
In the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, prepare to do some serious shopping with Coach, Bucherer 1888, and A|X Armani Exchange all under one roof. There is no shortage of restaurant spots for lunch or dinner here, either. But if you'd rather stroll outdoors, check out Pentagon Row, featuring shops, spas, and casual dining, with the outdoor ice rink open from November through March.
But when you are ready to relax and take in a movie, the latest choices in film can always be found at AMC's Courthouse Plaza 8.
Things to Do
There is never a lack of things to see and do in Arlington for those who live here and, of course, our visitors. Well-known throughout the country, the Arlington National Cemetery is the final resting place for President John F. Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Nearly 4,000 veterans and their families are buried at Arlington National Cemetery, which is also known for housing the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The historic area is home to The Pentagon, the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense. Magnificent, panoramic views of the Potomac River and Key Bridge are also found in Arlington. The Potomac Overlook Regional Park is much frequented by residents who enjoy its 67 acres with miles of trails in which to marvel at North Virginia's flora and fauna.
And just in case you haven't had your fill of shopping yet, you may want to venture underground to the Crystal City Underground Mall.
